Norton Disney and the Disney connection
The village of Norton Disney is believed to have ancestral ties to the Disney family, including Walt Disney himself. In 1949, Walt Disney visited the village, exploring the tombs and memorials of his ancestors at St. Peter’s Church. The village’s connection to the Disney family is commemorated with a dedicated plaque and is a point of local pride.

Heckington Windmill
Home to the only working eight-sailed windmill in the world, Heckington Windmill is a unique historical landmark and rare example of Victorian engineering. The village also hosts the annual Heckington Show – the largest village show in England – celebrating rural life, crafts, food, and entertainment.

Threekingham Viking Festival
Every year, the village of Threekingham hosts a lively Viking festival which includes the reenactment of the Battle of Stow – which took place in 870 AD. The festival features over 300 would be Vikings who recreate battle scenes and offer insights into Viking life through living history encampments.

Jennifer Saunders
The actress, comedian, and writer was born in Sleaford. She gained fame for her work in the comedy duo French and Saunders and the hit TV show “Absolutely Fabulous,” where she starred as Edina Monsoon.

North Kesteven has served as a backdrop for various film and TV productions with Doddington Hall featuring in well known productions such as War and Peace, Bargain Hunt, Pride and Prejudice and An American Aristocrat’s Guide to Great Estates.
